Sail With Astahaya
Astahaya is a name taken from a Buddhist legend. In the paradise of Jambu Dvipa, Astahaya was one of seven sons who’s father overlooked the country and bestowed consciousness to all breathing beings. The name Astahaya translates to ‘Sunset.’
s/y Astahaya was a concept put into production on October 2005 at the Oyster Marine in Ipswich, England. The yacht was built with special attention to detail and a strong focus on performance and quality. By June 2008, Astahaya proudly launched and started for the maiden voyage southward over the Biscay and into the Mediterranean Sea. In November of the same year Astahaya took part in the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC), the largest regatta over the Atlantic Ocean. Gliding across the Atlantic, Astahaya completed the course in 18 days, thus earning her the title of best Oyster and also managed to take home the third place prize for its class. Astahaya proved it’s sailing ability beyond doubt.
In April 2009, Astahaya took part in the Oyster Regatta in Antigua. Here, Astahaya received the prestigious Lewmar prize for the best of class. The next Oyster Regatta in the Caribbean will be held between the 12th and 17th of April in 2010. In the beautiful islands of the British Virgin Islands. Astahaya is available for charter for this Regatta. An Oyster Regatta is a special venue where the excitement of the daily races mixes with the equally exciting evenings of parties, dinners, and socializing. Seil med Astahaya
Navnet Astahaya er hentet fra en gammel buddhistisk legende. Astahaya er en av syv sønner i legenden om landet Jambu Dvipa, et paradis der menneskene lever i fred og harmoni. I denne fine legenden omkranser Astahayas far landet Jambu Dvipa. Han gir bevissthet til alt levende. Astahaya betyr solnedgang.
Astahaya ble satt i bestilling hos Oyster Marine i Ipswich, England i oktober 2005. Spesialinnredninger, design og seilegenskaper sto i fokus. I juni 2008 sto Astahaya ferdig rigget og klar for jomfruturen sydover. Astahaya seilte umiddelbart mot syd over Biscaya og inn i Middelhavet. I november 2008 deltok Astahaya i Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC), den største regattaen over Atlanteren. Astahaya brukte 18 dager på krysningen fra Las Palmas til St Lucia, var beste Oyster og tok tredjeplassen i sin klasse. Astahaya hadde bevist sine seilegenskaper.
I april 2009 deltok Astahaya i Oyster regattaen i Antigua. Her fikk Astahaya en prestisjetung Lewmar pris for beste Oyster 56.
Neste Oysterregatta i Karibien går av stabelen 12. – 17. april 2010 i De Britiske Jomfruøyer, Tortola. Astahaya er også tilgjengelig for charter i denne perioden.
